Mix Page

Contents > Mix Page

Use this page to adjust the mix and MIDI setup for each track.

Use the Page Selection Tabs to display the Mix page.

Each track has the following set of controls.

Use the first group of controls to set each track's basic parameters...

Use the second group of controls to select the type of sound used by the track...

You can also click these controls with the right mouse button to step through the values (or click with the right mouse button while holding down the CTRL key to step backwards through the values).

When using General MIDI patches leave the MSB and LSB controls in their default off states "--".

If you wish to manually select patches on a software/hardware synthesizer then leave the MSB and LSB controls in their default off states and make sure patch changes are also switched off by selecting the No Patch option in the Patch menu. You might also want to disable the transmission of reverb/CC91 if this interferes with your synthesizer's patches.

Most synthesizer manuals have an appendix listing the MSB, LSB and Patch numbers for each preset sound.

Use the final group of controls to specify which MIDI device the track uses...

What ports are available depends on what MIDI outputs are installed on your computer. If the port description is too long to fit in the space available then some of the name will be hidden. The pop-up menu always displays the full name.

If any tracks share the same channel and port then their controls are automatically "ganged" to reflect which parameters are shared.

If you have a very simple setup then you may never need to change the MSB, LSB, Channel or Port settings.
