Use these controls to specify an action for each step of the motif. To select an action click with the left mouse button and choose an item from the pop-up menu. The actions available are...

Rest silence (default setting)
Short a short (staccato) note
Normal a note of normal duration
Long a long (legato) note - several steps are automatically tied together if they use the same pitch
Late a short note delayed half a step
Two a choice of double note sequences...
0 + 2 current pitch, current pitch raised 2 scale steps (up a third)
0 + 1 current pitch, current pitch raised 1 scale step (up a second)
0 + 0 current pitch, current pitch
0 - 1 current pitch, current pitch lowered 1 scale step (down a second)
0 - 2 current pitch, current pitch lowered 2 scale steps (down a third)
Triplet a choice of triple note sequences...
0 + 1 + 2 current pitch, current pitch raised 1 step, current pitch raised 2 steps
0 + 1 + 0 current pitch, current pitch raised 1 step, current pitch
0 + 0 + 0 current pitch, current pitch, current pitch
0 - 1 + 0 current pitch, current pitch lowered 1 step, current pitch
0 - 1 - 2 current pitch, current pitch lowered 1 step, current pitch lowered 2 steps
Run a run of scale notes from previous to current pitch
Slide a very fast run of notes from previous to current pitch (e.g. for violin)
Trill a fast trill using the current pitch and the next one up in the scale
Flutter plays fast stuttering repeated note (e.g. for flute)
You can also click with the right mouse button to step through the actions (or click with the right mouse button while holding down the CTRL key to step backwards through the actions).

Use the Menu button to affect the whole row at once...

Reset fill with rests
Fill with Long fill with long actions
Fill Half Speed fill with long-normal action pairs
Fill with Normal fill with normal actions
Fill Double Speed fill with double note actions (cycles through variants)
Fill with Step 1 Action fill with action of first step
Randomise fill with random actions
Reverse reverse the order of the actions
Rotate Left rotate actions 1 step to left (earlier in time)
Rotate Right rotate actions 1 step to right (later in time)

Use the Random button to pick one of these menu options randomly. Rather than manually selecting an action for each step, it is often easier to use the Random button a few times to find an interesting sequence.
