Use these controls to specify an action for each step of the motif. To select an action click with the left mouse button and choose an item from the pop-up menu. The actions available are...
Rest silence (default setting) Chord a choice of straight chords...
Short a short (staccato) chord Normal a chord of normal duration Long a long (legato) chord - several steps are automatically tied together if they use the same voicing Late a short chord delayed half a step Arp a choice of arpeggios...
Up an arpeggio rising in pitch Down an arpeggio falling in pitch Random an arpeggio with random note ordering Strum a choice of guitar-style strumming patterns...
Up a strum rising in pitch (a down-stroke on a normal guitar) Down a strum falling in pitch (an up-stroke on a normal guitar) Up + Down a strum rising in pitch followed by one falling in pitch (a down-stroke followed by an up-stroke on a normal guitar)

Rather than manually selecting an action for
each step, it is often easier to use the Random button
a few times to
find an interesting sequence.
